Starting 01 September 2025, the bonus interest you earn on your UOB One Account will adjust across all balance tiers. While the qualifying criteria remain the same - S$500 minimum spend on an eligible UOB card each month, plus either three GIRO debit transactions or salary credit via GIRO/PAYNOW, the extra interest you unlock will look a little different. Starting from next month, your UOB One Account’s maximum effective annual rate (EAR) will fall from 3.3% p.a. to 2.5% p.a..

The UOB One Account is one of the easiest savings accounts on which to earn bonus interest, but in line with the global decline in interest rates, UOB will reduce its bonus rates from 1 September 2025. With a S$150,000 balance, your annual interest will fall from S$4,950 (approximately S$412.50 per month) to S$3,750 (approximately S$312.50 per month) - almost S$100 less per month on average. With that said, the UOB One Account is still one of the best savings accounts in the market if you do not wish to jump through too many hoops.
| Account Tier | ≥S$500 Card Spend + 3 GIRO Transactions | ≥S$500 Card Spend + Salary Credit |
|---|---|---|
| First S$75,000 | 1.00% | 1.50% |
| Next S$50,000 | 2.00% | 3.00% |
| Next S$25,000 | 0.05% | 4.50% |
| Above S$150,000 | 0.05% | 0.05% |
| Max. EAR | 1.40% | 2.50% |
Balances in the first S$75,000 tier remain untouched under the spend-only scenario, but the uplift from additional criteria is scaled back. To keep earning at today’s levels until August 2025, continue your existing habits; after that, you may wish to park surplus funds in fixed deposits or alternate high-yield accounts, especially for funds above the first S$75,000. To unlock the highest bonus interest rate (up to 2.50% p.a. from September 2025) on this account, all you have to do is the following:
Credit Salary (≥ S$1,600 per Month)
Spend S$500 on an Eligible UOB Card (including the UOB Lady’s Card)
While nobody welcomes a drop in savings-account interest, this adjustment was hardly unexpected, and with all things considered, the UOB One Account still provides a simple and safe way to earn bonus returns on funds you wish to keep liquid.
