SilkAir to receive Cabin Product Upgrade and be merged into Singapore Airlines

The regional wing of Singapore Airlines, SilkAir is set to undergo a significant investment program where the cabin products will be upgraded as part of a multi-year initiative before finally being merged into Singapore Airlines. SilkAir unveiled their brand new 737 MAX 8s last year and even though it currently operates a fleet Airbus and Boeing aircraft, it is transitioning to an all-737 fleet.

Singapore Airlines to resume Singapore-New York Direct Flights by End 2018 - World's Longest Flight at 19 Hours

Following the introduction of Singapore Airlines' latest regional Business Class product, the flag carrier airline of Singapore is expected to pick up the first of its new ultra-long-range (ULR) aircraft in the third quarter of 2018 and they are looking to launch non-stop flights from Singapore to New York by the end of the year. This 19-hour flight will become the world's longest non-stop flight and according to The Straits Times, the airline is also expected to offer non-stop flights to Los Angeles sometime next year.
