Mid-Autumn Festival (2016) at Man Fu Yuan (InterContinental Singapore)
The InterContinental Singapore is the first hotel to unveil the latest Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake collection this year (2016). Featuring a selection of traditional and snowskin flavours, the beautifully latticed treasure chest this year draws inspiration from the newly refurbished Lobby Lounge.

The Snowskin Mooncake Collection (S$66 for a box of four) is a yearly favourite at the InterContinental Singapore and this year, it will come with the following four flavours:
- Sea Salt Caramel with Chocolate Pearls, Chocolate Truffle and White Lotus Paste;
- Yuzu Citrus with White Chocolate Truffle and White Lotus Paste;
- Sakura Peach with Pistachio and White Lotus Paste; and
- Avocado with Chocolate Pearls and White Lotus Paste.
Durian-lovers will also be able to enjoy the famous 'Mao Shan Wang' Durian Snowskin Mooncake (S$68 for a box of four) but do note that discounts do not apply for this and only this.

If you prefer the traditional mooncakes more, you will not go wrong with the selection from Man Fu Yuan. The Baked Mooncake with Double Yolks and White Lotus Paste (S$68 for a box of four) is always a crowd-favourite but if you are looking for different varietals, check out the Baked Mooncake with Assorted Nuts (S$62 for a box of four), the Baked Maple Osmanthus-Glazed Shanghai Mooncake with Single Yolk (S$64 for a box of four) or time-honoured mooncakes with single or double yolks (including a low-sugar option!).
The Mid-Autumn Festival Mooncakes from Man Fu Yuan are available from 22 June 2016 to 15 September 2016 at Tea Hut (located at the entrance of the InterContinental Singapore from Bugis Junction). You may also purchase them at nine other locations around Singapore - Century Square, Junction 8, Jurong Point, NEX, Novena Square, Parkaway Parade, Takashimaya, Tiong Bahru Plaza and VivoCity.

If you have been following me on Instagram, you would have already known that the season for mooncakes (i.e. Mid-Autumn Festival) is coming up really soon and in the spirit of good fun, I have compiled what I would like to call a Mooncake Price Index (even though if we were to be pedantic, it is inaccurate to term it as that) for 2017. What I have done is basically gone through the price lists of all the hotel mooncakes that I have tasted so far to find out what the average price (GST inclusive) per baked and snowskin mooncake is - I have included both normal-size and mini-size ones for the sake of completeness. Do note that when there are multiple prices for different flavours, the cheapest price is utilised in this calculation.
