American Express is the Official Card Partner of the MICHELIN Guide Singapore and card members will be able to enjoy a suite of privileges. Between 22 July 2016 and 21 July 2017, purchase Singapore's very first The Michelin Guide Singapore 2016 at 50% off. In fact, selected card members will also be able to get the Guide before it goes on sale to the public.
American Express card members can also look forward to other privileges like priority booking to MICHELIN guide events in the near future.
If you are one of the lucky ones to have gotten a brand new Platinum Card from American Express (yes, I am referring to the metal ones!) then you should definitely consider using your S$400 Lodging Credit in conjunction with a Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) booking since this maximises the value out of that lodging credit (especially when you combine it with a third night free offer).
Eligible American Express cardholders can enjoy a one-time S$12 savings when they charge their Qoo10 purchases between 9-11 October 2018. Cards issued by DBS, UOB, Citibank as well as Citibank Express Corporate Cards are not eligible for this promotion but if you have recently registered for a Platinum Card, you are in luck!
A number of years ago, I wrote about the Chillax benefit for American Express Platinum members when I held the American Express Platinum Credit Card. It has been slightly over two years since my last official credit card with American Express and I have only recently gotten the brand new metal Platinum Card. As such, I decided to revisit the list of merchants and I was pleasantly surprised at how little I had to do to get a free drink (usually it involves buying another).
Selected American Express cardholders can enjoy bonus Membership Rewards points and KrisFlyer miles when shopping at ION Orchard this October! On all weekends (Saturdays and Sundays only) this month, eligible cardholders will be able to receive additional points (or equivalent miles) after hitting a minimum spend of S$10,000 in a single transaction. Centurion and Platinum Card (including both charge and credit) members will be able to earn 10.5 (4.10 mpd) and 10 (3.91 mpd) Membership Rewards points respectively for every full S$1.60 spent on Luxury Fashion and Fashion accessories at any American Express accepting merchants in ION Orchard, Level 3.
American Express is offering Platinum Card Members the opportunity to earn 30 Membership Rewards Points (equivalent to 11.7 miles per dollar) for every full S$1.60 spent on Montblanc, Piaget and Roger Dubuis from now until 15 November 2018. Bonus Membership Rewards Points are only awarded on up to S$16,000 worth of eligible purchases at EXTRA Partners in Singapore between 01 January 2018 and 31 December 2018.
You have just gotten your brand new Platinum Card from American Express and after spending S$1,712 on the annual fee, it is understandable that you wish to get the most benefits out of it as soon as possible. Here are five benefits that you should activate immediately with rewards to your new Platinum Card from American Express!
One of the most unique perks of The Platinum Card here in Singapore is exclusive access to PLATINUM VIBES. This exclusive lounge for Centurion and Platinum members is located in Marina at Keppel Bay (above where Privé is) and the pop-up location serves food by Michelin Chefs from Saint Pierre (one Michelin star) and Shoukouwa (two Michelin star). Additionally, members will also be able to select from a curated wine list that been created exclusively for this venue by Park90, in partnership with Robert Parker Wine Advocate - you will find a list of over 100 wine labels (many of which are rated over PR90) that are available here at retail price.
A brand new suite of benefits for Platinum Card Members were announced late July this year and card members in Singapore are finally getting that beautiful sleek metal card that card members in the United States have held since 2017. For the sake of comparison, the annual fee of The Platinum Card in the US is US$550 (approximately S$760) but the annual fee here in Singapore is S$1,712 (approx. US$1,250) - at least two times more! I have always been a strong advocate for paying annual fees where it is due (on selected credit cards that actually give you something in return) but since you do not officially get any renewal miles with this card, I debated about getting it for a while. Finally, I caved in and decided to apply for The Platinum Card a few weeks ago and here's why I actually did it (but more importantly, why I decided that the S$1,712 annual fee was worth it).
The American Express Platinum Card has long been synonymous with superior social standing and status. Today, American Express has introduced a new suite of benefits for Platinum Card Members at no additional cost - these benefits range from elite status in loyalty programs, travel credits, exclusive access to private membership clubs and spaces as well as enhanced travel benefits just to name a few.
American Express is currently offering the opportunity to earn S$150 statement credit when you spend at least S$500 at any of the participating properties across the Hilton Portfolio in Asia-Pacific with your American Express Singapore Airlines Credit Card. Cardholders can only benefit from the S$150 statement credit once per property but there are over 70 properties that are participating in this promotion!
