Complete List of New Hotels Opening in Singapore (2018) - The Shutterwhale
As far as the hotel industry is concerned, 2017 has been an exciting year with plenty of new hotels that has opened in Singapore over the last eleven months or so. Unfortunately, in the new couple of years ahead, this is expected to slow down even though we will probably be seeing a number of hotels going through refurbishments. The Conrad Centennial Singapore for example, is nearing the end of its refurbishment period and the new rooms are beautiful! This is my list of new hotels in Singapore that will be opening in 2018 (as well as some notable mentions for the future).

2. Capri by Fraser, China Square Central
The second Capri by Fraser property is planned for Singapore and the 16-storey building is expected to be completed in 2018. This brand new property is expected to create a more vibrant retail, entertainment and hospitality destination that will further rejuvenate China Square Central (which in turn increases the rental income from enhanced footfall). The entire China Square Central will then be repositioned as an integrated development within the heritage area of the CBD.

Refurbished Hotels Re-opening in Singapore (2018)
Grand Park City Hall
Everyone must have seen the Grand Park City Hall at some point - I stayed there once pre-refurbishment and did not find it particularly memorable. While the property is technically not closed during the refurbishment phases, travellers will be able to look forward to new rooms and lobby as well as a refreshed facade that brings this property to the right century. There is a pretty interesting video (it feels like a wedding video actually) of the new Grand Park City Hall that is posted online so feel free to check it out if it interests you.

As mentioned late last year, the Raffles Singapore has been undergoing some major restoration works since the start of 2017 and as part of the third phase of restoration, the hotel will be fully closed from mid-December. The grand re-opening of this legendary hotel is planned for the second half of 2018. Three new suite categories (Residence Suites, Promenade Suites and Studio Suites) will also be added to the Raffles Singapore upon its re-opening and refreshed dining concepts will be introduced.
