Getting Around the KrisFlyer Miles Redemption Limit on UOB Rewards - Up to 90,000 Miles Only?
The new UOB Rewards portal is beautiful and it is a huge step-up from the older UOB Rewards Plus portal. While trying to redeem some KrisFlyer Miles however, I realised that the new portal only allows you to redeem up to a maximum of 9 units - obviously with a per-transaction fee of S$25, I would want to maximise the number of miles that I am redeeming for to suit my travel requirements.
As I am currently trying to make a number of redemption bookings, I am trying to redeem 12 units (which will give me 120,000 KrisFlyer Miles) but the new rewards portal does not allow that at all. While I can definitely do two separate redemption requests (9+3), this would cost me S$50 instead of S$25.
I am not too sure if this is something that UOB intends to iron out eventually or is this one of those techniques to get you to redeem more frequently (hopefully not!) but it is hard to say after the introduction of that terrible KrisFlyer UOB Account.
The only way I know around this limitation right now is to redeem your UNI$ for KrisFlyer Miles using the old UOB Rewards Portal which is accessible via this link. As you can see in the screenshots above, the newer and sleeker looking Rewards Portal allows me to redeem up to 90,000 KrisFlyer miles only at any given time while the older portal allows you to manually enter the number of 'quantity' for redemption.
