Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit to Open Near EMQuartier - Taking Reservations from 01 December 2017
While looking for accommodation in Bangkok, I chanced upon the brand new Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit which is scheduled to open in October 2017 (but taking room reservations from December 2017 only). It will be located approximately 200m away from Phrom Phong BTS SkyTrain Station where travellers can enjoy the massive EmDistrict - Emporium, EmQuartier and the soon-to-open EmSphere mall.

The Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit will house 222 rooms and suites that will connect guests to the best shopping, dining (including plenty of cafes) and tourist attractions in the area. At the time of writing, it appears that the property will have five distinct room and suite types (some of which has a 'no sofa bed' variant) - the listed rates are Standard Rates but a 5% discount applies for World of Hyatt members:
- King (27sqm) - THB 2,500++ (SGD 102++)
- View King (28sqm) - THB 2,850++ (SGD 116++)
- King Specialty (37sqm) - THB 3,500++ (SGD 143++)
- King Suite (51sqm) - THB 4,500++ (SGD 183++)
- Terrace King Suite (72sqm) - THB 5,000++ (SGD 204++)
Obviously, booking the advance purchase rate (when it becomes available) is going to be cheaper and it is definitely exciting to see yet another Hyatt-branded property open in Thailand (especially since the successful opening of the Park Hyatt Bangkok). The removal of elite qualification through stays is definitely a discouraging one since this presents the opportunity for a mattress run but with expected advance purchase rates at S$100 a night, hitting Globalist status might only cost you S$6,000 next year.
There is a new Hyatt Place opening in Bangkok - Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit 1 (not to be confused with the Hyatt Place Bangkok Sukhumvit near Phrom Phong) - and it has already started to accept stay reservations from 13 January 2025.
