Hyatt has now enhanced their Best Rate Guarantee program to offer members the opportunity to pick 5,000 World of Hyatt Points over a 20% discount. Effective immediately, members can now file for a Best Rate Guarantee and choose between getting an additional 20% off or 5,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points (which will typically cost USD 120 to purchase) when it is approved. Remember, these additional benefits are on top of your newly-matched room rate.

While you are not expected to exploit the Best Rate Guarantee process, getting 5,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points on top of your matched price is amazing (especially on one night stays). If you are staying in a really expensive suite or if your stay is over a long period of time, the additional 20% discount may be more lucrative so you will definitely have to do the math yourself to find out which suits you (or your goals) better. Nothing else has changed in the meantime and you are still required to first book a stay before submitting a BRG claim within 24 hours from the time of your booking.
