G-Star RAW To Exit List of American Express Platinum EXTRA Partner from 01 May 2019 - No More 7.81 Miles per Dollar here!
The Platinum Card from American Express offers plenty of benefits and with the recent inclusion of Singapore Airlines in the International Airline Programme (IAP), this card has gotten a lot more useful for me since I can now book Business Class flights at a significant discount (and still earn miles/PPS Value from them)! If you have been on the fence about this charge card, check out my previous article on how I actually rationalised paying for the S$1,712 annual fee.

While The Platinum Card may not be the best card to accrue miles on a daily basis, it does offer 20X Membership Rewards points at selected Platinum EXTRA Partners - this is equivalent to a staggering 7.81 miles per dollar which can truly build your (mileage) bank very quickly. With that being said, the list of Platinum EXTRA Partners is limited and Centurion as well as Platinum members can only earn 20X Membership Rewards points on the first S$16,000 spent at these partners - they will earn 10X points following that (equivalent to 3.91 miles per dollar) which is still pretty decent.
Starting from 01 May 2019, G-Star RAW will exit the list of Platinum EXTRA Partners and eligible cardholders will no longer earn 20X/10X Membership Rewards points at this merchant. If you would like to sign-up for The Platinum Card, using my unique referral link will give you an additional 40,000 points (equivalent to 25,000 miles!) on top of all the welcome bonuses that you will get with this metal card!
American Express has finally revealed information on The Platinum Card’s new statement credit offers which replaced the previous S$800 travel credits.
