You Will Continue to Earn 5X Membership Rewards Points on Singapore Airlines IAP Rates Booked Online (AMEX Travel)
Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways are now participating airlines in the American Express International Airline Programme and when I compared the IAP to public rates a couple of days ago, Business Class tickets on Singapore Airlines were 28% cheaper (but on average they are approximately 10-15% lower which is still an amazing deal!).

Now you should already know that The Platinum Card from American Express allows you to earn 5X Membership Rewards Points when you spend with Singapore Airlines, SilkAir and Scoot directly or through The Platinum Concierge. Since you are now able to book IAP Rates online I was curious as to whether these bonus points would post when you book the IAP rates via the AMEX Portal. American Express has now confirmed that eligible card members will continue to benefit from 5X Membership Rewards points when booking an IAP Rate for Singapore Airlines on the portal.
While it goes without saying that The Platinum Card is not the best way to chalk up miles quickly, getting at least 10% off the cheapest Business Class rate available publicly and getting approximately 1.95 miles per dollar on top of that is a fantastic deal.
