Stacking the American Express Chinese Dining Offer with Chope Vouchers or Love Dining Discount
If you have been following The Shutterwhale's Telegram Group, you should know that American Express released two new offers early this morning. One of which is a Chinese Dining offer which allows eligible cardholders who have saved the offer to get S$10 back once in statement credit after spending S$50 (effectively a 20% cashback) at participating Chinese restaurants.
There are plenty of participating Chinese restaurants in this new American Express offer (e.g. Beauty in the Pot, Crystal Jade, Imperial Treasure and Hai Tien Lo) and even though getting S$10 back for spending S$50 may not seem like much from an absolute term, you may choose to stack this offer with Chope Deals that you can purchase online - if you have a Chope-Dollar balance, be sure to redeem first for a S$30 ChopeDeals Voucher before purchasing an actual voucher to get the most bang for your buck.
For example, Shin Yeh Restaurant offers a S$100 voucher for S$50 if you plan to dine at a less popular time slot (e.g. 11:30AM/1:30PM/8:30PM). Using 1,000 Chope-Dollars to redeem first for a S$30 ChopeDeals Voucher will allow you to purchase the aforementioned S$100 voucher for just S$20 after deduction - be sure to go through ShopBack as well for maximum cashback! Assuming the final dining bill comes up to S$150, you may wish to use the S$100 voucher to offset the bill before charging the final S$50 to your American Express card with the saved offer for an additional S$10 statement credit.
You might also notice that the Peach Garden located in OCBC Centre is also listed as one of the participating restaurants - this restaurant is also one of the Love Dining Restaurants so you can essentially save up to 50% on dining here (and possibly still trigger your S$10 statement credit). Now, get creative and start saving more on your dining bills. The Platinum Card is easily one of the most impressive cards in the market right now and it offers plenty of perks despite the S$1,712 annual fee. If you are thinking about getting the card and would like to pick up some additional miles along the way, using my unique referral link for The Platinum Card will give you 40,000 more Membership Rewards (MR) points (equivalent to at least 25,000 miles) on top of the welcome offer of 75,000 MR points (equivalent to at least 46,875 miles).
American Express has finally revealed information on The Platinum Card’s new statement credit offers which replaced the previous S$800 travel credits.
