Standard International to open The Standard, Singapore as part of Global Expansion Plans
Back in 2018, there were rumours that Standard International had plans to open up new Standard Hotel properties in Asia, and Singapore, as well as Bangkok were identified as key global locations for its expansion. With the official introduction of The Peri Hotel brand in Thailand yesterday, the lifestyle hospitality company has confirmed that The Standard, Singapore will open in the near future and details will be released before the end of 2020.

Other cities that Standard International was previously looking at introducing The Standard brand included Bali, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Phuket and Jakarta in this part of the world. With the current COVID-19 global situation, many new hotels that were slated to open this year and the next have been delayed as the hospitality industry weathers the pandemic. It will certainly be interesting to see when (and where!) The Standard, Singapore will open in and I will definitely be sharing more when information in made available.
