Up to 67% more IHG Rewards Club Points Required for InterContinental Ambassador
The InterContinental Ambassador membership is a great 'elite status' to have since it requires no commitment on stays but rather a nominal sum each year for a number of tangible benefits. Earlier this month, prior to my IHG Rewards Club account being hacked, I renewed my InterContinental Ambassador membership for just 24,000 IHG Rewards Club Points (or 32,000 points if you are signing-up for the first time) but apparently the price of signing-up as well as renewing has increased quite drastically overnight.

Instead of spending just 32,000 IHG Rewards Club points for signing-up, members will now have to fork out 25% more and spend 40,000 IHG Rewards Club points instead for a year of InterContinental Ambassador privileges. In fact, renewals which were previously priced at just 24,000 IHG Rewards Club points now require the same 40,000 IHG Rewards Club points (67% more!) as well! With that being said, the cash requirement remains the same and it is looking a little more lucrative now that the USD has weakened (at least against the SGD).
