List of Countries/Regions with Mandatory 14-Day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) for Singapore Residents and Long-Term Pass Holders upon Return

To further reduce the risk of importation of COVID-19 to Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be including a number of countries and regions to the existing Stay-Home Notice (SHN) requirement from 16 March 2020, 11:59 PM. In addition to mainland China (outside Hubei province), Iran, Italy, France, Germany, Republic of Korea, and Spain, Singapore Residents who return from ASEAN countries, Japan, Switzerland the United Kingdom after the aforementioned date and time will be issued a 14-day SHN upon return.

At the time of writing, all Singapore residents and long-term pass holders who return from (or have visited in the last 14 days) the following countries and/or regions will be issued a 14-day SHN upon their return to Singapore - you will have to provide proof of the place where you will serve the 14-day SHN (e.g. hotel booking covering the entire period, or a place of residence that you or your family members own):

  • Brunei Darussalam

  • Cambodia

  • Indonesia

  • Lao People's Democratic Republic

  • Malaysia (excludes land and sea travel from Malaysia)

  • Myanmar

  • Philippines

  • Thailand

  • Vietnam

  • Japan

  • Switzerland

  • United Kingdom

  • Mainland China (outside Hubei province)

  • Iran

  • Italy

  • France

  • Germany

  • Republic of Korea

  • Spain

As many of you may already know, most of the major hotel chains have come out to address the Covid-19 issue and status extensions have been granted to affected travellers (based on their definitions at least).
