American Express Provides Clarity on Earning Bonus MR Points Online at Platinum EXTRA Partners (Updated)

American Express announced a Double Rewards campaign about a week ago to allow Centurion and Platinum members to enjoy an accelerated earn rate on every eligible transaction that they charge to their cards. As a result of this, Platinum members can now earn up to 15.6 miles per dollar across American Express Platinum EXTRA Partners. While the terms and conditions have always stated that points will only be awarded at participating outlet(s) stated in the “Contact Us” Tab, they have gone one step further to explicitly exclude the online stores of some partners today.

At the time of writing, American Express will continue to award up to 40X Membership Rewards points per S$1.60 for online transactions made on Malt & Wine Asia with a Platinum Card even though I have heard from a Centurion member that the bonus points have not been posting automatically (but American Express has been notified and will be awarding the points retrospectively). More importantly, American Express has now made an explicit note that the online stores for the following American Express Platinum EXTRA Partners will not be applicable for 40X (or 20X, after the Double Rewards campaign has ended) Membership Rewards Points per S$1.60:
Blissfulthots - Only applicable at 1 Raffles Place outlet. Valid at Blissfulthots until 31 Dec 2020. However, if you wish to take advantage of the bonus points (i.e. 40X MR Points during the Double Rewards campaign), you can leave a special remark via the online order form to request for them to charge your Centurion/Platinum charge card remotely so you can benefit from the extra points.
Swiss Butchery - Only applicable for physical outlets in 30 Greenwood Ave and 56 Tanglin Road and not Swiss Butchery online store. Valid at Swiss Butchery until 21st April 2021
Taste - Only applicable for Taste Singapore at the outlet in Raffles Holland V Mall and not valid at Taste Singapore Online Valid at Taste Singapore until 18 November 2020
GrandCru - Offer valid only at Grand Cru 1 Fullerton Square until 15 July 2020. Not available for Grand Cru Online
