I have recently completed an amazing stay at the W Taipei where I was upgraded into a Marvelous Suite as a Platinum Elite member. However, when I looked at my Marriott Bonvoy account this morning, I realised that the points posted here approximately 14% lower than what I was expecting - it is always a good idea to calculate an estimated ballpark figure for the number of points you will earn from each stay and then reconcile it afterwards.

Hyatt has now enhanced their Best Rate Guarantee program to offer members the opportunity to pick 5,000 World of Hyatt Points over a 20% discount. Effective immediately, members can now file for a Best Rate Guarantee and choose between getting an additional 20% off or 5,000 World of Hyatt Bonus Points (which will typically cost USD 120 to purchase) when it is approved. Remember, these additional benefits are on top of your newly-matched room rate.

American Express has unveiled a list of participating merchants where holders of the American Express Singapore Airlines Credit Cards can earn additional miles every month. You might remember that there was an offer that was release a number of weeks back that allows eligible cardholders to earn 4 bonus KrisFlyer miles per S$1 spent with mobile wallets - I visited Watsons the other day to find out if both of these promotions stack.

One of the greatest perks of the American Express Platinum Reserve Credit Card is the complimentary 3D2N stay at any participating Frasers Hospitality property worldwide each Card Membership year. Most credit cards points and equivalent miles convert mostly to KrisFlyer (KF) Miles and Asia Miles (AM) in Singapore. It appears that DBS has added Qantas Frequent Flyer (QFF) as a Point Transfer Partner - members can convert their DBS Points into QFF Points at the same rate as KF and AM (5,000 DBS Points = 10,000 Miles).

If you frequent Starbucks often enough, hitting Gold status on the Starbucks Rewards program is not an incredibly difficult thing to you - you just have to spend S$300 each year to achieve this top-tier status. Over the weekends, Starbucks has unveiled some new perks and benefits for Gold members which include things like bonus stars upon renewal (and upgrade) as well as free drink customisation.

OCBC introduced some changes to the 360 Account back in November 2018 and one month after the new changes took effect, the bank awarded a bonus interest of 2.0% (instead of the 1.6% which was initially advertised) on balances between S$35,000 and S$70,000. This promotional interest rate was supposed to end after March 2019 but it appears that the bank has now made this positive change permanent.
