4.4 Miles Per Dollar (22 Miles per S$5) on Select Overseas Spend and Public Transport with UOB PRVI Miles Card
UOB PRVI Miles cardholders can now enjoy an accelerated earn rate of 22 miles per S$5 (4.4 mpd) on select overseas transactions (in a non-SGD currency) as well as public transport (train and bus rides via mobile wallet) in Singapore until 31 December 2019. Since American Express cards are not supported on SimplyGo at the moment, you will not be able to use your UOB PRVI Miles American Express Card on public transport (but you will still earn 4.4 miles per dollar on eligible overseas transactions).
In order to enjoy the accelerated earn rate on your UOB PRVI Miles Card(s), you will have to first register for the promotion via SMS. According to the terms and conditions of this promotion, cardholders will have to send the last 4 alphanumeric digits of their NRIC or passport number using their registered mobile number with UOB to participate in this promotion.
To participate in this Promotion, you must successfully register to participate in this Promotion by sending in an SMS to 77862 using your mobile number registered with UOB during the Promotion Period in the following format (the “SMS Registration”):
PRVI<space>Last 4 alphanumeric digits of your NRIC or Passport Number
Example: If your NRIC is S1234567A, you will need to send “PRVI 567A” to 77862.
4.4 Miles on Select Overseas Spend
The maximum bonus that you can earn from this promotion is capped at UNI$3,000 (equivalent to 6,000 miles) and this is on top of your usual earn rate with the UOB PRVI Miles Card. From an absolute dollar point-of-view, only the first S$3,000 worth of eligible overseas transactions will earn you 4.4 miles per dollar. Eligible Overseas Transactions are defined by UOB as follows:
Eligible Overseas Transactions” refers to Dining Transactions, Shopping Transactions (including online Shopping Transactions) and Accommodation Transactions which are processed out of Singapore and successfully charged to your Card in a foreign currency, and posted on UOB’s system but shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.
The maximum Bonus Award that you may earn for the entire duration of the Promotion Period is capped at UNI$3,000 (which is equivalent to S$3,000 worth of Eligible Overseas Transactions) and these bonus UNI$s will be credited by 31 March 2020.
4.4 Miles on Public Transport (Train and Bus Rides)
As mentioned earlier, SimplyGo only supports Mastercard and Visa cards right now so you will not be able to use your UOB PRVI Miles American Express Card if that is the only one you have. If you do have the Visa or Mastercard versions of the UOB PRVI Miles Card, you will have to add that into your mobile wallet (e.g. Apple Pay) in order to earn the bonus UNI$ from this promotion. Cardholders will be able to earn a maximum bonus of UNI$120 each month so this equates to just the first S$80 that you put on your cards each month.
If you do not have a UOB PRVI Miles Card, and would like to apply for one, you may do so via SingSaver. From now until 31 October 2019, signing-up and getting approved for the UOB PRVI Miles American Express Card via SingSaver will get you S$100 cash bonus and this applies to both new as well as existing cardholders. However, as mentioned in the aforementioned paragraphs, the American Express version of the PRVI Miles Card will not allow you to take advantage of the bonus miles on public transport spend. If you are thinking about applying for the card solely because of this promotion, I would recommend going for the OCBC 90°N Card instead since that gives you 4 miles per dollar on all eligible foreign transactions with no cap and no minimum until 29 February 2020.
Probably the best sign-up offer for Citi Credit Cards - get S$400 cash reward with minimum spend of S$500 within 30 days for new customers.
