The American Express Explorer Credit Card launches in Australia
I was reading the news earlier this morning and I chanced upon the newly released American Express Explorer Credit Card in Australia. Before anyone in Singapore gets super excited, we are not sure at this moment whether or not it will be made available to us here in the Lion City but just take a look at that card!

Here are the key highlights of this brand new American Express card:
- Apply by 30 November 2016, get 100,000 Membership Rewards® Bonus Points after spending AUD 1,500 within the first 2 months of Card Membership
- AUD 400 Travel Credit (Yearly)
- 2 Membership Rewards Points for AUD 1 spent (1.5 Miles per Dollar)
- Smartphone Screen Insurance for up to AUD 500 for screen repairs to your Smartphone when you pay for your phone or contract with your American Express Explorer Credit Card
Spending AUD 1,500 and getting 103,000 Membership Rewards Points (77,250 Miles) is equivalent to 51.5 miles per dollar - this is an insane sign-up bonus that is unheard of in Singapore!
American Express has unveiled its 2026 roadmap for The Platinum Card, signaling a major shift from statement credits to curated experiences.
