As part of The Great Singapore Airlines Getaway, American Express Cardholders who are amongst the first 1,000 to register for the following promotion will enjoy S$50 Statement Credit for simply spending S$1,500 on Singapore Airlines during September 2016.
Remember you have to register for this promotion in order to benefit from it and even though it is limited to just the first 1,000 cardholders, it is great to see all the initiatives that American Express is running as of late. The Love Dining program changes were (generally) a welcome change and the S$50 Statement Credit from spending S$300 in Hilton is as generous as it can be.
American Express has been pushing out a pretty attractive Referral Programme for most of its credit cards - you can now get 7,500 additional KrisFlyer Miles with the American Express Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card through this programme if you sign-up using my unique referral link. If you did not hold any Singapore Airlines credit cards previously, you can easily earn 12,500 KrisFlyer Miles by spending just S$50 in the first 3 months upon card approval.
American Express runs a number of attractive promotions from time to time and it requires cardholders to save these offers to their credit cards. American Express Singapore Airlines Credit Card holders can now earn 4 bonus KrisFlyer miles per S$1 spent on Scoot ticket purchases for flights departing from Singapore at flyscoot.com from 19 March 2019 to 18 June 2019. As always, this offer is limited to successfully registered cards only so make sure you log-in to your American Express app to save it now!
Last week, I wrote about the opportunity to earn an additional 20,000 Membership Rewards (MR) Points on top of the spend bonus (applicable to all new American Express Platinum Card members) of 75,000 MR Points when you use my unique referral link. American Express has now changed this offer to 40,000 bonus MR points (equivalent to at least 25,000 miles) for spending S$5,000 within the first 3 months of card approval.
The American Express Platinum Card needs no introduction - despite the S$1,712 annual fee, this lifestyle card comes with a great deal of perks and benefits that can easily offset the cost of annual fee. There is currently a Referral Programme where invited members can get an additional 20,000 Membership Rewards (MR) Points on top of the welcome offer and benefits - you can access my referral link here to get more points!
In collaboration with Singapore Airlines, American Express will be offering a limited-time promotion for all existing and new cardholders of the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Ascend Credit Card to obtain KrisFlyer Elite Gold membership tier by spending S$12,000 (out of which, only S$3,000 must be spent at SingaporeAir.com or on the SingaporeAir mobile app) between 01 March 2019 to 01 June 2019.
One of the greatest benefits of having the American Express Platinum Card (and the Centurion of course) is the ability to book Fine Hotels & Resorts (FHR) rates - selected hotels that meet the strict criteria that American Express sets out will be able to participate in this program. For us members, this translates into a range of benefit that typically include a guaranteed 4PM late check-out and usually a USD 100 property credit that can be utilised during the stay.
American Express runs a number of great offers each year (the best one so far is spend S$500, get S$150 back at Marriott Hotels) and in view of the upcoming Lunar New Year ahead, they have now released an offer for eligible cardmembers to get S$38 back from spending S$388 or more in-store at participating restaurants by 28 February 2019. As usual, you will have to save the offer to your card and the statement credit is limited to one redemption per registered card (you can save this offer to multiple American Express cards if you desire).
American Express Platinum Members (including those holding credit card versions) have long been getting either a complimentary welcome drink or 1-for-1 beverages at selected bars in Singapore via the Chillax programme. Late last year, four new bars from the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach have been added to this growing list. In view of the 2019 contract renewals, Smoke & Mirrors now imposes a S$20++ minimum spend requirement before an American Express Platinum Member can take advantage of the Chillax benefits.
The American Express Platinum Card is probably my personal favourite card that I have applied for in 2018 - the S$1,712 annual fee may put most people off but the perks are great and you can truly get your money's worth if you use the benefits that come with the card. One of the most interesting benefits that comes with the American Express Platinum Card is access to PLATINUM VIBES which is a members-only space that is created for Centurion and Platinum Members.
The start of a new year always brings about new surprises and benefits (at least in the world of credit cards). From now until 30 September 2019, American Express Platinum Members (both Basic and Supplementary Platinum Members) with The Platinum Card (not to be confused with the credit card versions) will be able to enjoy complimentary access to events, talks and seminars (excluding workshops) held by the American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore (AmCham).
