Get up to S$480 Statement Credit Per Card on Staycations (Inc. Marriott/Hilton/Hyatt) with American Express' Open for Travel Campaign
American Express is seriously on a roll when it comes to offering value for members. Following the S$350 statement credit for dining that was announced yesterday for Platinum Members, all eligible Card Members can now enjoy up to S$480 statement credit on staycations, as well as eligible spending across participating properties under Hilton, Marriott, Millennium Hotels & Resorts, The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood, World of Hyatt, and Wyndham Hotels & Resorts from today through 30 November 2021.
Click HERE to check out the Open for Travel campaign and all the statement credit offers!
There are six offers in total and you will be able to enjoy up to S$480 statement credit on each saved card if you were to utilise them completely. Do note that an enrolment cap applies for each offer so I highly recommend that you save these offers to your card as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment. As a quick reminder, you will only be able to utilise each offer once on each saved card so do consider saving them on multiple cards (if you have more than one) if you plan on utilising them.
1. Hilton - Spend S$300, Get S$60 Statement Credit (20% Cashback)
According to the terms and conditions of this offer, Hilton Singapore is the only participating property in Singapore as the Conrad Centennial Singapore and the Hilton Garden Inn Singapore Serangoon are both still designated as SHN-dedicated facilities (SDF). In order to qualify for this offer, payment must be made in-person at the front desk (so online prepaid rates might not trigger the statement credit), or at one of the participating outlets within the property:
OPUS BAR & GRILL
IL CIELO
D9 CAKERY
Making the Best of Hilton's S$60 Statement Credit Offer
The Hilton Singapore will be deflagged at the end of the year and it will become voco Orchard Singapore in 2022. If you are looking for a way to make use of this offer, check out the Opus Steak-cation Package at the Hilton Singapore (starts from S$265++ per night) which comes with a room night's stay and a choice of Opus premium sharing steak, or a new premium grilled seafood dinner experience for two persons (inclusive of 2-hour free flow wine) which is worth S$178++. The statement credit offer for Hilton will effectively lower the total cost of the room package from S$311.91 to S$251.91 which is an absolute steal! You will also earn double Hilton Honors points if you register for the Power Up global promotion on this stay.
2. Marriott - Spend S$400, Get S$100 Statement Credit (25% Cashback)
While some Marriott properties in Singapore will start accepting leisure bookings again soon, there are only four participating Marriott properties in Singapore for the purpose of this offer. According to the terms and conditions, any unlisted locations of participating merchants are not valid for the offer. Similar to the Hilton offer above, only in-person eligible spend across the following properties will count towards eligible spend:
W Singapore - Sentosa Cove
Duxton Reserve Singapore, Autograph Collection
The Vagabond Club, Singapore, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel
Making the Best of Marriott's S$100 Statement Credit Offer
Obviously, spending at tenants within the aforementioned properties will not be included so you should definitely refer to the list of participating restaurants, bars, and spas before making plans. There are several ways to make full use of this offer - if you have a Platinum Card or even a Platinum Credit Card, you may consider dining across some of the Love Dining restaurants (where you can enjoy up to 50% off the total food bill) to unlock further savings. Obviously, there is always the option of staycations but you should also try to take advantage of Luxury Travel Advisor Rates to get exclusive benefits like USD 100 property credit (even on one-night stays!).
In the case of The St. Regis Singapore, the lowest Marriott STARS rate (you can book such rates using HoteLux or ClassicTravel) that I can find on a weekday and a weekend is S$339++ and S$399++ respectively - both rates come with USD 100 property credit (which you can utilise during your stay) as well as other perks like complimentary breakfast and space-available upgrade. These rates are also elite-qualifying so you will enjoy the aforementioned perks on top of your Marriott Bonvoy benefits - they will also earn nights and Marriott Bonvoy points as it is an eligible rate. If you are planning to do a longer stay, there is currently a Stay 3, Pay 2 offer (or a third-night free offer) with Marriott STARS and the cheapest I have seen is S$651++ for three nights (or S$217++ per night) with USD 100 property credit - an absolute steal!
Now if you have been craving for an island escape, booking the Marriott Luminous rate at the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove will get you USD 100 property credit even on one-night stays. Similar to Luxury Travel Advisor Rates, you can book Marriott Luminous rates using HoteLux or ClassicTravel. There are also two additional Marriott Luminous offers at the W Singapore - Sentosa Cove which you will be able to access via HoteLux](https://theshutterwhale.com/r/hotelux) and ClassicTravel:
Additional Hotel Credit Offer - Stay 2 Nights, Get USD 200 Property Credit Per Stay
Stay 4 Nights Get 5th Night Complimentary - Get USD 100 Property Credit Per Stay
The Duxton Reserve Singapore and The Vagabond Club are both pretty unexciting properties for me personally - I have stayed in a Duxton Duplex Suite and Executive Club Suite in both properties respectively so do check out my reviews if you are interested.
3. Hyatt - Spend S$300, Get S$75 (25% Cashback)
Both the Grand Hyatt Singapore and the Andaz Singapore are participating properties under this American Express offer - payment will have to be made in-person at the front desk, Grand Club, or at a participating restaurant, bar, or spa within the property.
Making the Best of Hyatt's S$75 Statement Credit Offer
The Andaz Singapore is currently running an exclusive Stay, Dine & Refresh room package for Singapore residents - simply enter 'STABF' under the Special Offer Code to book this special rate. Priced at S$250++ and S$300++ for weekdays and weekends respectively, this special room package comes with S$50 F&B Credit per stay as well as daily breakfast per registered adult - it will also earn you points and nights under the World of Hyatt program as this is an eligible rate. The triple points promotion (only valid on a stay of two or more qualifying nights) will end on 15 September 2021 but we should expect to see a new global promotion for the last quarter soon.
While the Grand Hyatt Singapore does not really have an attractive room package at the time of writing, it does have a fantastic happy hour from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM each day at 10 Scotts - wines by the glass starting from just S$7.50++ and Champagne by the glass (Barons de Rothschild Brut NV) from S$12++ so go crazy. Alternatively, you may also consider stocking up on alcohol from the Grand Marketplace (which has some of the best prices in Singapore), but do remember to head down to the property and charge the card physically.
4. The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood - Spend S$200, Get S$50 (25% Cashback)
While there are three properties that are under The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood, only two of them are participating under this American Express offer:
KēSa House, The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood
Wanderlust, The Unlimited Collection by Oakwood
Both in-person spend across the aforementioned properties, as well as online spend at www.theunlimitedcollectionbyoakwood.com, will count towards eligible spend for the purpose of this offer.
Making the Best of Oakwood's S$60 Statement Credit Offer
At the time of writing, both KēSa House and Wanderlust are running Staycation Special rates in the month of September 2021 from S$99++ per night so you can essentially do two nights at either property (or one night each) for S$183 nett after accounting for the statement credit.
5. Millennium Hotels & Resorts - Spend S$400, Get S$120 (30% Cashback)
In-person payment at one of the participating Millennium Hotels and Resorts properties in Singapore, as well as payments made by 30 Nov 2021 online at millenniumhotels.com, will count towards eligible spend for the purpose of this offer. While there are only two hotels available for staycations, you may also consider spending on F&B across the other properties:
M Social Singapore
Orchard Hotel Singapore
Studio M Hotel Singapore (F&B only)
Copthorne King's Hotel Singapore (F&B only)
M Hotel Singapore (F&B only)
Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel Singapore (F&B only)
Getting S$120 statement credit from spending S$400 is a really generous offer since it represents 30% cashback - I have stayed at the M Social Singapore on multiple occasions and I do like the loft rooms quite a lot.
Making the Best of Millennium's S$120 Statement Credit Offer
There are a handful of staycation offers at the M Social Singapore and Orchard Hotel Singapore but if you are interested in dining, you may consider making a reservation via Eatigo to unlock additional discounts during off-peak timings at participating restaurants.
6. Wyndham Hotels & Resorts - Spend S$300, Get S$75 (25% Cashback)
The only participating property for this offer is the Ramada by Wyndham Singapore at Zhongshan Park, and only in-person payments made by 30 November 2021 will be eligible. This is probably the only offer that I will not be utilising but if you are a fan of New Ubin Seafood Zhongshan Park, getting 25% cashback on dining spend is really not a bad deal at all.

Planning a beach day can seem simple, but unexpected issues often arise. Mornington Peninsula’s beaches are popular, which means dealing with potential crowds, fluctuating weather, and poor preparation can easily ruin your outing. Arriving late might lead to parking challenges, and picking the wrong beach can limit your planned activities. Many forget important items that could make or break their beach experience, leading to stress and missed opportunities for relaxation.
