American Express Love Dining Adds Blackout Days and Outlet Restrictions for Select Partners

The American Express Love Dining benefit is one of my favourite features of The Platinum Card since it allows me to get up to 50% off dining across various restaurants (including some located within luxury hotels) in Singapore. While blackout dates (e.g. public holidays) have always been integral to the program, it appears that some restaurant partners have chosen to reduce participation in this program by introducing blackout days and outlet restrictions.

As many of you may already know, Chalerm Thai at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel has ceased operations and the existing space will be overtaken by a third-party tenant (and therefore, Love Dining benefits will no longer be applicable once this is done). Due to capacity issues, fȳr (located along Boon Tat St) will not offer any Love Dining privileges on Fridays (but they will continue to be available on all other days that the restaurant is open).

Love Dining privileges at TWG Tea will only be offered at the Swissôtel The Stamford and on the bay at Marina Bay Sands with effect from 24 October 2020 - it will no longer be applicable at the ION Orchard. As a quick reminder, the restaurant policy states that a minimum order of one payable beverage per diner applies for eligible cardholders to enjoy the discount.
